jake’s sponsored toddle
jake successfully completed his sponsored toddle from his mums and tots group at st. john’s church to the glen gardens park in filey.
here is a picture of him walking and one of his friends at the park after their toddle.

jake is on course to raise over £30 for the children’s society.
well done jake!
it’s amazing what they’ll print!

the local paper printed an article about the filey parish website and our plans to blog throughout lent.
they also added a bit about the work kath and i are doing.
plus i had to stand in the street looking like a lemon looking at my laptop!
down at the beach
this is exactly what living by the beach should be about; we picked up abi and jake from school/playgroup, popped home to get changed, then spent an hour on the beach before dinner. it was so warm today, much like the rest of the uk. i sat on the beach with a coffee while abi and jake made sandcastles and splashed in the sea. nice.
been a bit quiet.
since the last post when it was snowing, we’ve done a fair bit:
- had a couple of days in chester walking the walls and sampling the coffee shops
- spent 24 hours in oswestry catching up with friends
- a couple of nights in milton keynes with a day celebrating my mum’s birthday
- had good planning meetings for cafe church and xodus (we have a new exciting direction for the youth group)
- a day/night in doncaster followed by a day in beverley
- got involved in a children’s service in staxton, a nearby village
- ate too many pancakes
- took some young people to a youth event at the national railway museum
- went shopping to ikea in leeds for cafe church resources
- helped lead our first service at st john’s
the pace has slowed a little this week, but now the focus is our first cafe church this sunday. check back for a report.
