simon, abi and jacob’s culture day
while kath was taking part in a creative prayer workshop, the rest of us decided we’d get a shot of culture and visited the scarborough art gallery and rotunda museum.
so after a healthy mcdonald’s breakfast our first stop was scarborough art gallery. in october we bought an annual pass for the scarborough museums trust (£8 for an adult for a whole year, bargain!) which includes the art gallery, the latest exhibtion was bawden and ravilious. i’d never heard of them before, but instantly recognised their style. a local design agency have been working on the publicity for the exhibition and created some children’s resources too, so there was plenty for abi and jacob to do in a really well resourced children’s creative space.

abi and i had a go at creating a (paper) mug based on the iconic ravilious alphabet design, below is a picture of my attempt and the original. can you guess which is which?
we then popped into the rotunda museum to look at dinosaur bones and fossils followed by a cappucino at the gala cafe with the best view in scarborough.
